Hi and thank you for stopping by my portfolio site.

Here you will find a selection of photos in wide interest areas to help you get a good understanding about my style, attention to detail and professional quality of work I can deliver for you. My shooting style is to take as many pictures as possible. If you have seen me at a function you will recall that I'm always where the action is taking that shot not once but many times and from many angles. This increases the chance of getting candid and pleasant photos. It also means you have plenty of happy snaps to take home on a DVD in full size JPEG format and email versions to share with friends and family.

Technically I shoot everything in JPEG+RAW mode which allows post-processing (just like a dark room but this is digital) with all photos backed up onto a portable hard drive for protection. To capture those special moments I use only the best hardware and lens (digital full-frame) which allows me to shoot indoors without a flash (when not needed) and still produce stunning photos.

I can be contacted by email on ernest@semerda.com or via facebook.

A great photo is only a good post-process away from a good photo. With candit photography, the background is not under your control. In the photo below, to bring focus to the couple I have removed the distracting scenes as the modified photo reveals. The tables, people and ceiling air conditioning ducts were removed and a light in the distance dimmed. All of a sudden the focus of attention is just the couple and we no longer have distracting objects in the picture.

And another set illustrating the removal of distracting items such as a fan in the distance, mic stand, speaker stand and a folder on the bench.
